A couple of years ago I was very kindly gifted a DSLR camera and given rudimentary tips about its operation. I did manage to take a few photos but, once I was on my own, I promptly forgot all I had been told. To be honest, I have never had “a good eye” for a photo, even my phone camera ones leave a lot to be desired, so now I have signed up to an online photography course. Our first task, prior to the start of the course, is to take thirty photographs each on a different theme but, having seen some of the photos already submitted, I feel I may be the only true beginner. Nothing daunted, I have ordered the workbook, charged up the camera battery (even finding the charger was a challenge!), managed to insert battery and memory card, set the date and time and taken my first photograph which just happened to be of the laundry basket as it was the first thing I saw . I suspect this is going to be very challenging but, nothing ventured nothing gained as they say, so I will have a think about the thirty photographs and hopefully will have something to show before the start of the course.
